Formed way back in the summer of 2010, we are an electronic music duo whose live show format specializes in “Chipsurf”, a genre we coined that combines “chiptunes” (music made with retro video game consoles like the Nintendo NES, GameBoy and C64 SID) with Surf, taking inspiration from Dick Dale.
The show is energetic and lively as a result with a unique yet familiar sound.
We are based out of San Antonio, TX.
Show Setup
We aim to make our current live show format require a modest setup. John brings a guitar and pedal-board which is direct in (no amp). Tim brings a keyboard and a small keyboard-sized DJ table for the synthesizers and effects used. We run all this usually through our own mixer meaning our sound requirements are just a line-in connection and a stage mic for brief talking parts (typically at the end when we announce who we are before playing our last song, which is usually a video game cover). Power requirements are usually just a single cord with much of our gear being battery powered.
Typical setup times are around 5 minutes with around a 5 minute sound check. We can tear-down usually in just a few minutes.
